We, as a BAE Submarine Build Leadership Team, have set ourselves a challenge 09.06.2022 to conquer the Yorkshire 3 peaks for Marie Curie care and support through terminal illness,  which is a charity close to all of our hearts. Under 12 hours we will walk a route of 24 miles of ascent taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. This will be both physically and mentally challenging for us all. It will require great team work, determination, exemplar navigation, lots of training, and of course plenty of flap jack
and lots of laughs along the way! This is a charity close to all our hearts as we have all in some form been impacted by terminal illness through the loss of loved ones. We will be supported by Marie Curie volunteers who give up their free time to support this amazing charity who will keep us fuelled and up beat along the way. 

We aim as a team to raise £5000 for this amazing charity.  Marie
Curie is a registered charitable organisation in the United Kingdom which provides care and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families. The money we raise will allow Marie Curie nurses to continue to provide free care to those people who need it most.

To put money into perspective:
*£5,000 pays to train 10 nurses or healthcare assistants for a year, so they have the knowledge and expertise to give quality care to those who need it.
*£5,000 pays for 250 hours of expert care and emotional support for someone living with a terminal illness, in the comfort of their own home.
*£5,000 pays for 1,666 delicious, nourishing meals whilst staying in a hospice, or 2,500 glasses of wine because enjoying a favourite tipple brings a smile to peoples face and is a treat many look forward to.
*£5,000 pays for heating one of the hospices for 75 days meaning the patients and their families feel warm and comfortable.
