Story
Update:
When I started planning this head shave, my grandma was suffering from Leukaemia. Sadly she has now passed away. I miss her every day but I draw some comfort from the fact that she passed away peacefully at home like she wanted, which was made possible by the support of a team of nurses, including a Macmillan nurse. I am going ahead with the head shave to raise money for Macmillan in her memory. I have set a date of 17/09/14.
I have decided to have my head shaved to help two charities. I have been growing my hair for years and it is currently 25 inches long. My hair will be donated to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to children that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Donations for my head shave will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, which is a cause close to my heart because my grandma died from leukaemia. Macmillan Cancer Support help families like mine affected by cancer.
Your donation of £10 could keep five typical Macmillan information and support centres stocked with all the information booklets, guides, directories and leaflets needed to support people affected by cancer for 12 hours.
£25 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
£50 could pay for a Macmillan Grant that buys someone with cancer a microwave, making it easier for them to prepare their food.
£70 could help run a large Macmillan information and support centre for seven hours.
