Family Action has launched a fundraising appeal to help families they work with who are struggling with food insecurity and other financial pressures as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The financial impact of COVID-19 poses an unprecedented challenge for thousands of vulnerable and low income families. Although the Government has stepped in to support many people who have lost their jobs due to their workplace closing it is inevitably the families who were already struggling financially before COVID-19 that will be in an even worse position now. Self-isolation, the closure of schools, loss of low-paid work, the absence of free school meals and worries about existing debt will all just increase these financial pressures and the tension within the family home. Every penny you donate will make a really big difference to the lives of people and families in desperate situations.
