24 Miles in 24 Hours, 16 October 2021
Thank you to everyone who made it possible for us to provide a new dedicated breast unit at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Please help us to continue support for this unit through further developments to benefit breast cancer patients.

Story

On 16th October 2021, I will be running one mile, on the hour, every hour, for 24 hours. I will be doing this to raise money for the NNUH Boudicca Breast Cancer Unit Charity.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the start of this year and have received fantastic care from the breast cancer team at the N&N hospital. Their plan is to open a dedicated breast cancer unit which will enable their many patients to receive tests and diagnosis on the same day; eliminating the anxious wait between multiple appointments.

I like to have something to focus on and to challenge me and I have maintained my running throughout the treatment I needed- only taking three weeks off after surgery, and that was only because I had to!

I love running but I also love sleeping. Therefore, I thought a way to combine the two in a challenging way was to deprive myself of sleep and see if I can keep running.

I have a fantastic group of friends of have kindly volunteered to share a mile or two with me- they will keep me company and also keep me awake. I will be running along Sheringham Promenade from 10am Saturday 16th October.

Please, if you can, donate to this worthwhile cause and if you feel like coming along on the day and delivering a bit of support my way then I will be super grateful. Thank you💜
