If you know me well enough, you will know that I need to loose weight for my health and wellbeing and my motivation is hopeless!  I need to get healthy.  I needed an incentive and Thomas is my motivation. I can help me and raise money in the process for this amazing charity!  Couch to 5k seems like a good start 😊 especially as I'm definitely not a runner 🏃‍♀️

Thomas was born at 29 weeks weighing 2lb 3oz due to me having severe pre-eclampsia, 17 years ago. Medical science has advanced since then but this charity still needs funds for vital research into this condition. 

Due to my pre-eclampsia and Thomas' prematurity and complications, he put up a good fight but sadly the fight got too much. My little fighter went to heaven at 9 weeks old 💙

Maternal mortality (mothers dying in pregnancy) is a major reversible social injustice in the world. Rates in low income countries are 100 times greater than they could be. The main causes (bleeding, infection and hypertension) are easily treated if women can get to health facilities in a timely manner. This also saves many babies. Uptake of care is a major barrier and APEC International aims to provide a culturally sensitive web based resource suited to help women understand the actions needed to improve outcomes. We need to make educational resources in local languages, including video information and guidance.APEC International is a global web-based resource aimed at reducing maternal and neonatal health inequality from pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders. It will provide educational materials aimed at increasing awareness and improving outcomes for women and babies. Engage, Educate, Empower.
