Story
My dear Dad (Michael Armitage) has Prostate Cancer; he was diagnosed 10 years ago and had radiotherapy, some years on hormone treatment followed by some years without any treatment. When he was first diagnosed he got stuck into helping us prepare for mine and Dales wedding at home, a reception in the paddock, plenty to do, a great distraction. He's a really active retired farmer, Champion Vintage Ploughman representing GB, plays golf every day, makes musical instruments, is a fantastic Grandpops to our 2 small boys and he had a go at skiing with us when he was 72!! He's amazing, an inspiration and I really want to do something for him and all the other people suffering with Prostate Cancer. Since having our 2 boys (5&8 years now), I started running a few years ago, thanks to 2 great friends, Julie & Darrelle; The Marvellous Mummy's! We ve completed a number of 10ks, and this year The Brighton Half Marathon and The Paddock Wood Half Marathon. So, my next challenge is to run in The London Marathon 2017 for my wonderful Dad, thought this could be a brilliant way of doing something for him as he has done so much for me. I ve been really lucky to be selected to run for the Prostate Cancer UK Team so I can hope to raise loads of money for them. I’m going to keep you all posted about this journey………………..
