Hopefully on Friday 24th September 2021, I will be undertaking the daunting but exhilarating challenge of racing 1 mile and 1 furlong around York Racecourse in front of a 20,000+ crowd.  

This has been postponed from 2020 due to COVID-19 giving an extra year of anticipation, fundraising and preparation.

I have set a personal target of £15,000 which seemed a daunting task in mid January 2020 and still does! I am back riding at trainer Tim Easterby's at Great Habton after several pauses due to lockdowns. Lets hope I get a clear run now! 

Cancer can affect anyone at any time and I, like many have seen the consequences. My cousin (and godfather) was taken too young, in a matter of months by cancer, but Macmillan’s support to the close family was an incredible support. 

A key member of the family business, working with us for 48 years was sadly taken by this horrid disease on 24th December 2019. I would like to give something back and work hard to raise money for a fantastic cause. My school and university friend was taken far too soon in March 2020, at just 38 years old - leaving a young family. A stark reminder of how fragile life is.
