Story
Every 14 minutes, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer or a related blood disorder. On 14th June this year, Rich's mum was one of those people. She received the news that she has Multiple Myeloma, which is a type of blood cancer. This cancer isn't curable, but thanks to the amazing work of charities such as Anthony Nolan, it is very treatable.
September is blood cancer awareness month, and so, on 17th September, in recognition of the 14 minutes between people receiving that life-changing diagnosis, me, Rich, our little people, and Heather (and anyone else who wants to join us) will be walking 14 miles in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Anthony Nolan.
If you've got this far, thank you so much for reading 😊
Here ia a bit more information about the Anthony Nolan charity:
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
