Story

On Wednesday 25th January 2017, we sadly lost Tamsin, one of our twin baby girls at nearly 37 weeks.   Following a straightforward and low risk pregnancy up to that point, we were completely shocked to discover at such a late stage that she had suffered severe brain complications.

Having never imagined a situation where we would need the support of the Bereavement Midwifery team at St Thomas Hospital, we were overwhelmed by the most professional and compassionate care and help that we received.  This included helping us deal with our initial shock over what had happened, setting us up with a private room where we could grieve Tamsin, dressing her and letting us spend time with her in privacy, as well as advising us on how best to explain the situation to our 4 year old daughter, Imogen.   We were also given a memory box for Tamsin with her hand and foot prints and photos of her for us to keep.

Your donation will go directly to the team that helped us so very much, so that they can continue to help other families in such tragic circumstances.

Thank you for your donation and support,

Love,

Sarah, Oliver, Imogen and Juliet Ives xxx
