Story
The Sussex Cancer Fund works with the NHS to create new and improved facilities for cancer care in Sussex, including purchasing specialist equipment, providing additional patient services, refurbishment projects and funding cancer research studies. It is likely that every Cancer Patient in Sussex will have benefitted from something the Sussex Cancer Fund has provided. #RaisedInSussexStaysInSussex.
My own personal journey with cancer began in Easter 2020 when I was taken ill in Mexico on the way to my son't wedding in the States. I had a scan and was told that I had large tumours on my ovaries. I was flown back to the UK, where it was confirmed on the operating table that I had cancer. I was lucky because it was contained.
However, I undertook a course of chemo after having my ovaries removed.
The treatment support that I received has been incredible and I want to give back as I have definitely directly benefitted from this incredible charity, as has every other cancer patient receiving treatment in Sussex.
We are raising money towards a community acupuncture project, which is being rolled our across Sussex to help people who suffer with the side effects of acupuncture. They need £23k altogether.
Thank you for all your support.
