Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know, I lost my Grandad, Ernie, a couple of years ago after he had a very fast battle with Alzheimer's. A sporting man, I know my Grandad (both of them!) would be really proud to see me completing this event. I raised funds for the British Heart Foundation last year for this event in memory of my Grandad Sam, this year its the turn of Grandad Ernie.
As well as Grandad, my Grandma, Rose, had a long battle with dementia and she passed away at the end of August last year. I am lucky to have some incredible memories of my Grandma, but it saddens my that my younger cousins were robbed of some of these older memories when Grandma had a stroke over 10 years ago.
Ryan (my soon to be husband) has also had some family heartbreak from Alzheimer's when his Grandma Sylvia was diagnosed with the disease. She died several years ago.
This charity is so important to all of my family and I am determined to make a difference and raise some amazing funds to help the Alzheimer's Society find a way to fight this heartbreaking disease.
Please donate as much as you can as I can assure you I will be giving every effort. I completed a triathlon last year, but that was a super sprint fun triathlon, this year I am swimming 500m, cycling 20km and running 5km-this is a HUGE challenge and I will promise to give it everything I have!!
Thank you SO MUCH in advance.
