Story
I know you’re probably thinking “what is she up to now?” but hear me out... it’s taken me 3 years to build up the courage to do something to raise money for a charity to help prevent families losing loved ones to heart disease.
In 2020 I lost my Dad to a sudden heart attack/stroke, he was only 49 years old and left our hearts completely broken. Since then I’ve wanted to do something to make a difference but never felt ready until now and didn’t know what to do. I didn’t wanna do a walk, as I save those for the other charity I support and my Dad was larger than life so I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to do something a bit out there (like he was), which is why I knew when I read the Great British Skinny Dip association had teamed up with the British Heart Foundation this was it.
On the 8th of October I will be doing a sponsored sunrise skinny dip with a few other beautiful women I have guilted into joining me (including my Mam). The location is yet to be confirmed (Probably the beach or a waterfall) but this is our plan!
Why skinny dipping?
1. To raising our heart rates and just feeling the rush of being alive.
2. Boosts positive mental health and well being
3. Promote body positivity, especially for us women
Thanks for reading and I hope you will support me!
Info on The British Heart Foundation -
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
