Story
For the second year running, on Sunday 1st December 2019, both Max and I will be taking part in a run in the Pavilion Gardens to help raise money for Blythe House. Max will be whizzing round running 700m dressed as a Reindeer in the Reindeer Run and I will be “running” the 5km Jingle Bell Jog... this year pushing Sophie in her buggy around the course, with us both dressed as Father Christmas! I say “running” but given that I haven’t done any running or training since the end of February when Mum died, and have comfort eaten my way to gaining a ridiculous amount of weight, then on this occasion I am more likely to be jogging/lolloping/staggering my way round the course! I had considered not entering this year but the care and support Blythe House provide is nothing short of amazing and they deserve all the support they can get. So if you can find it in your heart to support myself, Max (and Sophie) with any donation, no matter how big or small, then not only will you be helping us all get round the course but you will also be helping a fantastic hospice continue their wonderful work in the community. Many thanks from Sarah, Max & Sophie xxx
Blythe House Hospice provides care and support for those in the High Peak community affected by cancer, life-limiting illness or bereavement. The care and support Blythe House provides remains completely free of charge. By taking part in the Jingle Bell Jog, I am supporting Blythe House Hospice to continue to provide this much needed care. By sponsoring me you could contribute to the following:
£50 would pay for three hours Hospice at Home care for someone in their last weeks of life.
£100 would pay for half a days physiotherapy for a patient struggling with mobility as a result of their illness.
£150 would pay for 5 counselling sessions for a bereaved child at one of the hardest times of their life.
£450 would pay for three nights of care for a patient at the end of their life who wants to remain in their own home.
