Story
Hi
I've signed up to run the Race for Life on the 7th June in Abington Park Northampton, in celebration of my lovely friend Sarah Noble Kendrick, who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She's had the full treatment of mastectomy, chemo and going through radiotherapy. For those of you who don't know what radiotherapy is, it doesn't mean listening to Radio 2 all day.
She is the healthiest and fittest person I know, so it was a huge surprise when she got the diagnosis. A clear indication that it could be anyone of us, at anytime. There's no prejudice with this disease.
I have agreed to do the 10k. I was enthused at the beginning, but with less then a week to go and very little running done in the last 4 weeks, I'm praying I will get round rather then knowing I will get round.
I am kindly asking if you would support me by sponsoring me £2.00 each for running the 10k, which works out to be 20p per km. A bargain I feel, less then a bottle of wine.
I am running in celebration of my lovely friend and I have already been sponsored to run in memory of my friend's cousin. If you would like me to run in memory or in celebration of someone special, I would be honoured to do so and will ensure that their name is on the card that I will wear on my back to keep their memory alive. The more names I have, the more I am sure they would be encouraging me round and hopefully not end up in a heap on the floor.
