The Connection at St. Martins is happy to announce that the 74-mile Pilgrimage from St. Martins to Canterbury Cathedral is back for 2022, during the Platinum Jubilee Weekend (Wednesday, 1st June to Saturday, 4th June 2022).

Story

This picturesque four day walk in Chaucer's footsteps from St. Martin's Trafalgar Square along the Pilgrims Way covers 74 miles. The journey ends with a service at Canterbury Cathedral. During the Pilgrimage, We'll get to meet a wonderful and diverse group of The Connections supporters, including some of the people The Connection supports. Some are rough sleeping and some are not but everyone will enjoy the spectacular countryside, the company of each other and the delicious food provided along the way!  We suspect we will also get to enjoy the variety of English weather, challenge of remaining cheery through physical and mental exhaustion, blisters, sore legs and sharing of basic accommodation and learn more about ourselves, strengths, weaknesses, hopes, fears and pushing boundaries.

About the charity

The Connection at St Martin’s is here to be with people as they recover from life on the streets and move on to meaningful, fulfilling futures and a place to call home. We work with people, not for them, and put every individual person at the centre of their recovery.
