I'm supporting the Gordon Moody 3 Peaks Challenge to help celebrate 50 years of Gordon Moody being a force of healing and hope for individuals, families and communities affected by gambling addiction.
The Gordon Moody story started with their founder, Reverend Gordon E Moody MBE whose work included being influential in the 1968 Gambling Act, introducing Gamblers Anonymous to the UK in 1964 and, in 1971 opening Gordon House (a hostel for men who often had nowhere else to live and needed a safe place to focus on their recovery).
Gambling and gambling-related harms have changed since then and Gordon Moody's services have adapted in response. What hasn't changed is their passion to help those most severely affected by gambling harm.
50 hours for 50 Years aims to raise £50,000 to support Gordon Moody to continue to deliver treatment services in a safe and supportive environment helping individuals and families reclaim and rebuild their lives free from gambling addiction.
