Story
My Dad and I are taking part in 'My Marsden March' - a fundraising initiative launched by the Royal Marsden in response to the Covid-19 social isolation and the postponement of the annual Marsden March. For the month of June we will be walking to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
We are sharing our Just Giving page to combine our efforts. We were allowed to suggest a goal for how many steps we can achieve in a month - we have chosen to start off with 55,000 steps to match the number of patients being treated at the Marsden Hospital. I know we'll surpass this target but the number seemed a poignant starting point.
My family's cancer story is one that most of the people who know me will know about but as our rollercoaster continues, I remain totally in awe of the ground breaking treatments that are being made available to Mike at the Marsden. But it's not just my family's story that has knocked me sideways this year, it's the number of friends and their families whose lives have also been affected by the cruelty of cancer. To all those friends who have lost someone to cancer or are living with it, I'm walking for you but also to give you hope that together we can help to find a cure to this terrible disease.
To anyone who has sponsored me in the past, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and if you can spare a couple of pounds I would really appreciate it.
