Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am trekking to Everest Base Camp in October 2017 and running the London Marathon in April 2018 to raise money for Blue Cross.

The Blue Cross is an animal welfare charity that helps to find loving homes for unwanted or abandoned pets, treats sick or injured pets and educates responsible pet ownership.

The Blue Cross is a charity close to my heart, as in March 2016 I rehomed a young dog called Tigger from them. They pulled Tigger from a council pound where he had ended up after being found as a stray by the local dog warden. If a rescue such as the Blue Cross hadn't stepped up to rescue Tigger from the council pound within 7 days, he would have been put to sleep - this is the reality for approximately 5000 dogs per year who aren't able to be pulled from council pounds by a rescue organisation.

It is thanks to the Blue Cross that I have my beloved four legged adventure buddy, and I would like to give something back. No dog should be killed simply because someone didn't want them anymore, and I would like to raise funds to help the Blue Cross continue to be able to save animals lives.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
