Story
Hellooo!
Thanks for coming and having a butchers at my site. If you've got this far you've probably already decided that you're going to generously donate some cash this way so I'll not give it the hard sell, but say my thanks and (try to) keep it brief.
For those of you who don't know I have taken it upon myself to run quite a long way, 26.2 miles in fact, mostly just to prove that I can, but also to raise a bit of cash for charity along the way. Not only am I hoping to run the whole way, but I'm hoping to do it in sub 4 hours which for those of you who don't know, is a reasonably credible time as the average time for women marathoners is approximately 5 hours.
The marathon I have chosen to run is the Edinburgh Marathon which takes place on Sunday 23rd May 2010. I have chosen to run it in aid of BEAT, a charity set up to support people suffering from eating disorders and their families. Anyone who has known anyone who has been affected by an eating disorder will know that it is a life consuming mental illness that has great physical and psychological consequences and causes great upset to friends and relatives. In order to overcome the illness, people with eating disorders require specialist medical attention and appropriate support from their family and friends. At present I believe that there is a lack of public and professional awareness and understanding regarding the condition, inadequate access to specialist facilities and deficient support services for family and friends. I think it'd be grand therefore if we could spare a little money to go towards a charity which aims to rectify this. As we all know, the nations not in a great financial situation at the moment so even a few quid would be hugely appreciated. You can either donate through the website following the links, or tell me in person as I have an old fashioned sponsorship form to record sponsors on.
Apologies, and thanks, to those of you who have had to put up with my moaning and graphic details of my blackened (now absent!) toenails and other ailments over the 16 weeks of training (especially Roop, you've been grand! x).
I shall be sure to let you all know how I get on.
Thanks a million,
Love to all,
Sarah/Crispy/Wiggy/Ratbags etc etc...

P.S. Does anyone actually know if toenails do grow back!?
