Story

Can you believe im actually going to run the London Marathon?!? I can’t!! Well, I’m going to do my best In April 2023.

I shall be running to raise money for a really important charity, one close to my heart, Missing People UK. https://www.missingpeople.org.uk/

An inclusive, supportive, empathic and proactive charity who understand and care for those who have a friend, family member or loved one missing. They also support those who are missing and work hard to keep people safe.

I work with children who have been missing and can see the impact of this event on families and loved ones. Its so painful to bare witness to, the experience of it is not something I would wish on anyone. My younger brother Adam has been missing since 2002, the impact is something I can fully appreciate.

Small but essential charities like Missing People UK rely on donations to be able to continue their essential service. Please help the continued and valued support by making a donation today.

Last year I set a challenge to raise money for Missing people uk. I was running a marathon a month and would end this challenge running the London marathon. After 4 marathons covid put pay to that idea! Among other issues, Covid left me with a persistent cough which lasted for 5 months, this damaged my body no end. My diaphragm will never be the same again. I experience tiredness that is physically painful and stays with me for days! After a year, I’m finding my way back to managing my symptoms, feeling better and my new normal.

So, the training has begun! I made a promise to raise money for this essential charity. I still have that London marathon place, 23rd April 2023 is the date to be strong enough and resilient enough to fulfil that promise. Please support my new journey, I’ll need any words of wisdom, kindness and encouragement anyone is willing to offer. I entered the last challenge fit and healthy, I enter the new one apprehensive and delicate, but, determined and stubborn. If anyone has any ideas for fund raising or can help with that, please let me know. I want to make this worth it!! Wish me luck 🍀🤞❤️
