Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in my 16th Great North Run, but it's my first in my 50s. I did my first GNR in 1984 when I was 19, so have run it in my teens, 20s, 30s and 40s, but now I'm 50, I just have to go for it again! I'm running it with one of my favourite running buddies, Nicola, and we had a practice run in our chosen costumes at the 200th Parkrun in July in King's Lynn as per the photo.
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of my cousin-in-law, Martin Young, who was a similar age to me and seemingly fit and healthy, but very sadly had a massive heart attack last Christmas and died. It was a great shock to us all. He was an inspirational person and we all miss him.
