Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm not really one for doing a Fundraising page, I'm usually on the other side to be honest sponsoring others, but here we are, so let me tell you why I'm asking for a bit of support from friends and family. April 19th I've signed up for the Boston Marathon. No, I've never done one before, it'll be my first and you never know, possibly my last! So, If I'm going to do one I might as well do some good with it and raise a few £££'s and help those through tough times. The Butterfly Hospice in Boston, once just an idea and now offering palliative care and holistic support to patients and their families 24 hours a day. I'm hoping that what we can raise will help ease those that go to the Hospice for respite, symptom control and for care at the end of life.
Seems an age since I set this page up but with everything cancelled I thought my marathon would be next year. However, I'm pleased to report I will be covering those 26.2miles for the Butterfly Hospice in the Virtual London Marathon Sunday 4th October.
£7 provides quality food for one patient a day. £100 pays for housekeeping for a day and £500 pays for gardening equipment to maintain the hospice grounds over the course of a year.
It makes my 26.2 miles look small. I can do this, the training is hard I'll admit but with all your support too between us I will cover the distance and hopefully ease those who are being supported by the Butterfly Hospice. Well, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how wierd this year has been! From the excitement of training with my running buddies to having the event postponed. Then having to 'come down' from those longer runs throughout lockdown to then try and build once more for the rearranged event only for that to be cancelled was very hard I must say, but there was many of us in the same boat. However, I am pleased to be covering those 26.2miles for the Butterfly Hospice this Sunday 4th October in the virtual London Marathon. Give a cheer if you see me.
