Story
Having worked for Charlie House for three years and seeing the direct impact and support the charity has on NE families, this project is close to my heart. In the North-east of Scotland alone there are around 1,800 children with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions. Established in 2011, Charlie House is committed to directly supporting these children and their families.
The Charlie House vision has always been to have a purpose-built facility in Aberdeen to support families in the North-east of Scotland. Families currently have to travel OVER 100 MILES to access their closest facility and support! The charity launched its ‘Big Build Appeal’ to support this long-term goal and to engage and call on people in the North-east of Scotland to support their fundraising campaign to raise £8million for the Charlie House Specialist Support Centre. They are HALF WAY THERE!
The Big Build Appeal will enable Charlie House to build the centre, kit it out with all the specialist equipment requirements that the children need and get this fantastic centre operational and running for the first six months. This Specialist Centre will enable the children and their families to make wonderful memories together and live life to the full.
The build and the planned services provided from the centre will dramatically change the support available to the 1,800, both at the centre and out in the community. It will enable the charity to expand its current services and support mechanisms and give the children and their families what they need locally, when they need it.
Your donation will help them on their way to making this dream a reality and support the babies, children, young people and their families in the North-east when they need it most. Thank you for your support x
