Story
“I was offered a place, completely out of the blue and it felt like a gift from the boy himself.”
On April 21st this year I am going to run the Virgin London Marathon to honour the memory Reuben Graham and to raise funds for the Charity his inspirational parents have launched in his name, Reuben's Retreat..
For those of you that don't know I was very lucky to have been Reuben’s childminder, for three days each week he would brighten my days with his infectious smiles and increasingly mischievous ways! He was very much a part of our family too and we all miss him very much.
Reuben was amazing, Reuben's Retreat will be amazing and I want to do something amazing in his memory.
I didn't manage to get a place in the London Marathon this year and decided just to try again next year, then on Thursday 24th January with just over 12 weeks to go I was offered a place, completely out of the blue and it felt like a gift from the boy himself.
So, I have a mountain to climb having just started running again after months of injury, training wise I should have started at least 4 weeks ago, but I have adapted a Marathon plan and learnt a few lessons and I will complete this Marathon, raise lots of pennies, get the medal to show my grand kids (in many years to come) and feel immensely proud to have done that something amazing!!
I can safely say I have not asked anyone for sponsor money since I was about 12! I really hope that my friends and family will support me well and if you are reading this page and don't know me or about Reuben's Retreat please take the time to click on the link, look what we've achieved so far and read Reuben’s mummy's inspiring blog. If everyone who doesn't know me but visits my page leaves just £1.00 it would mean the world, it would mean, YES she CAN and WILL do it, for Reuben!

Lastly PLEASE share my page, it is sharing that has seen our charity grow and inspire and touch so many people in the short months since our beautiful Reuben became an Angels.
