2022 Great North Run
Fundraising for Guide Dogs
Fundraising for Guide Dogs
Three years ago I (Sarah) lost my Grandad Colin to pancreatic cancer. My Grandad is missed everyday and the world really is a much duller place without his smile.
Born with Optic Atrophy, Granddad was extremely visually impaired and is something which got progressively worse over time.
My Grandad was nothing short of an inspiration, he worked as a plasterer when he was younger and was good one too! Amazingly, Grandad was able to walk miles thanks to his dogs as this is what he enjoyed doing the most. Nothing held my Grandad back and I will be forever proud of him.
Myself and my partner have decided to run this years Great North Run to raise money for Gudiedogs UK. This amazing charity offers hope and independence to others. Our aim is to raise around £700 in memory of my lovely Grandad Colin.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and we would greatly appreciate any donations.
