Our lives fell apart in 2014 when we were told Hayden wouldn’t make his first birthday. It’s hard to remember those early days as it was all such a blur of trauma and grief, but the hospital told us that Demelza would be there to support our family and looking back I don’t know how we would have coped without them. Because of his medical equipment Demelza was the only place we could take Hayden for the first 18 months of his life - he absolutely loved the attention of the staff and to this day still loves nurses!
