Story
After years of growing it for the cause, Sarah and Maggie are finally going to be getting their hair chopped!!!
Yes, that’s right, we will be donating at least 15 inches of hair to create wigs for children who have lost their own hair due to Cancer.
As some of you may know, we have had many close family members affected by the dreaded ‘C’ word (cancer that is…), and we want to fight back!
‘Nooo, you can’t!’, ‘that’s such a shame’, ‘it’s so lovely and long though’, is just some of the things we have heard but we know that our hair will grow back! If donating our hair even brings the smallest smile to a child’s face, then it is worth every single strand!
If hair is donated, the wigs cost the charity very little and they can support more young people. If there isn’t hair donated, the charity buys in the most appropriate wig for the boy or girl in question, as close as possible to their original hair. The cost to the charity to purchase one wig is on average between £350-£500. Therefore as well as donating our hair, we would love to raise £700 in the aim to be able to pay for two wigs.
Please give as much or as little as you would like to, every penny counts! We are having our hair cut on Wednesday (28th Sept) so we will update this profile with our new looks! Thank you so much in advance!!
