We support those with life-limiting illness to live well so their families can live on

Story

5 years ago I started a list of #30thingsbeforeim30

This list started because I was in a point in my life where I was in a rut (to say the least) I hated my job, day to day routine, and generally was finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning. I created the list to give myself something else to focus on, so that rather than focusing on the bad, I took my time to realise I could make things good. Everything needed to be something I hadn’t done before, something I could complete alone and it had to be fun. This climb is the last big thing on my list.

Now my choice of charity - the start of this year has been particularly difficult after I lost someone very dear to me, my Omi. Omi was truly the head of our family, she was the mischief, the ‘go to’ and my overal inspiration for life and my love of the mountains.

The last few weeks of her life were insanely hard not only for us witnessing, but for her, someone who was so independent becoming someone needing so much support. The Arthur Rank Hospice is an absolutely amazing place, a place of peace, serenity and pretty much anything you need in a time so hard. The staff are truly magnificent and I could not think of a more deserving charity.

Please give as much as you personally can, you never know when you or someone you love will need a service like this. And let’s be honest our loved ones deserve the best.

❤️
