Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm doing this run for fun and also to raise money for CHAS the childrens charity. This is kinda "out there" for me as anyone who knows me really well, knows that the only running I do is for the chinese opening at half 4 on a Sunday to help cure my hangover!!
The charity provides the only hospice service in the whole of Scotland for children with life threatening illnesses which have no known cure. The donations will help this charity as it costs 25000£ per day to run the services provided by CHAS and I think its important that the children who attend the hospices can feel secure, safe and have as much fufilment and enjoyment out of their lives as anyone else regardless of their condition and how much time they have left to live. I think its also important that the childrens families get the support they need whether thats support in accepting that their children are needing pallative care services to bereavement services (which the charity also provides).
