Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please also visit Tony's page at www.justgiving.com/Antony-Gilling as we are fundraising jointly for Parkinson's UK and Mind.

Currently 1 in 500, 127000 in the U.K., have been diagnosed with Parkinson's. My mum is one of these. There is no cure and no certainty around why people get it. With funds, Parkinson's UK can continue to research these unknowns, whilst supporting those diagnosed and enduring the debilitating symptoms resultant from the nerve cell loss caused by Parkinson's  Disease.

Mental illness can be as debilitating as physical illness. Since becoming ill in 2010, and being diagnosed with a Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and then embarking on my own personal journey of recovery, the importance of both mental health awareness and mental health support cannot be underestimated. In my experience, the work Mind do to inform and support, is second to none. Mind state 1 in 4 of us will suffer a mental health issue this year. I suspect it is more.

Please give generously to both our charities and support the events that we will run over the next 6 months.

Thank you for being the difference that makes the difference.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
