1 in 4 struggles with mental health but not everyone gets the support and help they need. That is why I have joined #TeamMind to run the Royal Parks Half in October.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They also campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Mind responds to over 128,000 people seeking information and support from their helplines. Over 120,000 people use their online communities, and their online mental health information is accessed over 21 million times. Mind fights for mental health. For support, for respect, for you.
In 2018 I lost a dear friend who had been suffering with mental health problems silently. And whilst I cannot save you Elin, I might be able to help someone else who is suffering. No one should have to face a mental health problem alone.
Running a half marathon will not come easy for me, a year ago I could hardly run 1k. But over the last year I’ve found that it is true what they say, exercise is great for your mental health. So in October I will be running for Elin, for me and for anyone else who needs support. If you can help me help Mind’s important work, please donate. All donations, small or large, are greatly appreciated.
Mind is a charity that relies on donations and this is how your donations can help:
£20 could run Mind’s online peer support community for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone.
£40 could help Mind’s Infoline answer calls, providing someone with vital support and information about help available for them.
£50 could help Mind campaign for better mental health services from the Government, ensuring people get the support they need, as soon as they need it.
£100 could pay the cost of one of Mind’s Infoline or Legal Line advisors for an entire day.
Thank you for your support!
