Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know I ran the race for life last year in memory of my little sister Frances who died in 1994 from non-hodgkins lymphoma, needless to say a very emotional 3.1 miles!
On 15th April this year I will be running 26 miles and 385 yards at the Brighton Marathon!! Again in memory of Franie and for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Being only 20 years old when she died Franie was considered too old for the children's ward and was on a general cancer ward. There were some young people on the ward but many were a lot older. The care was great but we always felt she would have benefited from being in an environment with other young people who were all going through the same thing. Teenage Cancer Trust aim for every young person with cancer to have that opportunity. Would it have made any difference to the outcome for our family? Who knows. But it would certainly have made a huge and positive difference to the journey.
Mum, Dad, Pete and I miss her terribly as do all our family and I know she would be very proud. I can only hope on Marathon day she will make sure the sun shines on our faces and the wind's on our backs! Thank you for any donation you are able to give. xx
