Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

Laurie Bawden passed away on the 11th July 2022. One of his many passions in his life was youth and community work, especially walking and hiking outdoors. He co founded a hiking club at Stanley Youth and Community Centre, taking young people from South Stanley to the fells of Weardale and Teesdale,, giving them the opportunity to walk together.

He would have loved the idea of this organisation, and always thought getting out onto the fells would have brought back many memories and some perspective. We would often take a drive over the fells.

Dementia Adventure thinks differently about dementia. We look at what people can do, not what they can’t. We offer supported holidays and dementia training so people with dementia can get outside, experience the wellbeing benefits of nature and enjoy more active and fulfilled lives.
