teaching midwives in Sudan · 3 September 2010
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know in September I am going to Wau in Southern Sudan with Poole Africa Link, a Charity from my employer Poole Hospital NHS trust.
I am going for two weeks as part of a team of five to teach the midwifery, nursing and medical staff methods of care which we hope will improve the health of the local population.
As all of my friends will know I am passionate about midwifery (even if I moan about the nightshifts!!!) and the idea of helping women and babies in dire situations is something I am very excited about doing.
It is a massive leap for me as the furthest I have ever been is Spain, and I am sure it will be a huge eye-opener!
As part of the trip I am trying to raise money, which goes to the charity to enable more midwives to go out and carry on the good work. You can find out more about the Poole Africa link via the hospital website.
Ps I seem to have put myself as if I am doing a run but I'm not, sorry about that folks!
So please dig deep and donate now.
