Education and support for deprived children in the slums of Kibera and rural areas of Kenya.

The human contribution is the essential ingredient. It is only in the giving of oneself to others that we truly live. Give what you have. To someone it may be better than you dare to think.

The gift of water saves lives, which is a hugely rewardable action. Allah says in the Qur'an, 'And whoever saved one (a life) - it is as if he had saved all of mankind'. (Qur'an, 5:32) Imagine this - every single time the clean water you donated saves someone’s life, it is as if you have saved all of mankind!

Poverty is a significant risk factor in a wide range of psychological illnesses. It increases the risk of mental illnesses, including stress, depression, anxiety and self-esteem. Children raised in environments of low socio-economic status show consistent reductions in cognitive performance. We hope to support schools in the rural areas and the children who live in the slums of Kibera in Kenya.

Mental and emotional problems are common among in-school youth and need to be addressed in Kenya. Children’s psychological adjustment has been shown to affect educational progress which is critical for their future. For children growing up in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas, safe and supportive school environments are central to ensure they reach their potential and maintain their psychological health.Children living in the slums of Kenya are often exposed to multiple stressors, limited access to clean water, and high levels of malaria and other infections. All these factors make children vulnerable to a spectrum of psychological problems. Be the change you want to see in the world and help me protect the wellbeing of the children.
