Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. As a team, we, the Santander staff in the Chester branch, are taking part in several fund raising activities to raise money for Claire House.

One of the activities we will be doing is participating in The Chester Dragon Boat Festival on 22nd June 2014. This is where we're suppossed to describe what this is and what it entails. However as the majority of us have never even heard of Dragon Boat Racing this may be difficult. From what we're told, a group of 17 people sit in a funny looking boat (16 rowers and 1 drummer) and have 3 races against other boats over a set distance (typically 250m). If by some minor miracle (or mass disqualification) we are one of the best teams, there would then be a final.

As a team, we are doing this for a local charity we all feel passionate about. A charity we ourselves hope to never need. Tragically though, there is a huge demand for their services. Claire House is a Children's Hospice which relies almost entirely on donations and fundraising and with a daily running cost in excess of £6500 your support is vital in maintaining the amazing work that they do. Claire House is a charity which provides respite, end-of-life and bereavement care for children and young adults with complex medical needs, up to the age of 23.
