Story
This is my mum, Sandy, who passed away aged 61 with cancer at St Franics Hospice on 13th May this year.
Me and some of my wonderful friends, confirmed so far : Nicola Norton, Tracie Monks, Kelly Manning, Jennie Coyle, Vickie Hopkins, Toni Brooker, Laraine Ereku, Nicola Humm will be taking part in the 10K Star Trek walk for St Francis Hospice on Saturday 2nd July.
My mum was supposed to be taking part in this, albeit in a wheelchair, and as she cant we will be doing it in her memory instead.
St Francis hospice were great in supporting mum at the day hospice each week, helping with her symptoms and helping her come to terms with her illness.
She then spent her last 7 days in the hospice and the care she received was truly outstanding. The support they also provide family members is amazing, both me, my brother and dad could spend as much time with her as we wanted - staying the night also. This is something you can't do in hospitals.
St Francis Hospice is a wonderful and beautiful place and is self funded through fundraising and donations. In order for them to help other people like my family we need to raise as much money as possible.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So if you would like to donate, however small it would be most appreciated.
Thanks so much
Love.....Sandy's Stars xx
