Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’d like to say that running a marathon is the hardest thing I’ll ever do, but it isn’t. Going into hospital, being induced, labouring for hours, to give birth to a baby you cannot take home is the hardest thing I’ve ever done; and always will be.

Sands were, quite literally, and without being too dramatic,  a life saver for me.  The monthly meetings were a safe space that I could openly discuss my baby and my loss, and my feelings.

I don’t discuss my baby in open forum, so if I’ve shared details with you, consider yourself the privileged few I’ve introduced them to.

I now volunteer for Leeds Sands, and help run the monthly meetings. Giving that safe space to others to talk about their much loved babies is one of the greatest privileges I’ve ever had and a fitting tribute to my baby. Always loved, never forgotten, 18/12/15.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
