Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I completed this very tough trek back in early November, as a self funder, and it  was certainly a memorable experience. I've been overwhelmed by the support I've received and so pleased to have exceeded my target. These much needed donations to the Huntington's Disease Association are greatly appreciated.

HD is a rare degenerative brain disorder caused by the Huntington gene and therefore can be passed on from generation to generation. Each child of a sufferer has a 50% chance of inheriting the illness. There is no cure at present.

My father had HD and sadly my sister has inherited it from him and now her eldest son has it too and therefore, his two young children are now at risk. I am 66 and am so lucky to be showing no signs of the illness.

A million thanks to all those who've very kindly sponsored me. Including the online Gift Aid you've helped me raise £5,300+.
