Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Thankyou for helpinging me achieve my first target of £200 which is the minimum I am expected to raise to allow me to participate in the Night Ride. Now I hope you will help me with my new target which I will add soon :) My new target is £1000.
Hi I am Sandra Watson, I am a 53 year old married woman with two children. In my younger days I was always been slim and kept resonably fit and healthy but as I got older I have put on weight and become pretty unfit. I lost my mum to ovarian cancer 21 years ago when she was in her early 50's and within the last six years have lost two of my sisters in their early 50's to other illnesses, one only eight months ago.
Since then I had decided that I wanted to buck the trend and go for longevity and made the decision that I would somehow have to start looking after myself and get fit.
I noticed on Facebook my second cousin Jenny (who's granny had also died of ovarian cancer) had registired to do "Woman V Cancer Ride The Night" 100km approx 62 miles cycle ride around London at night with 2000 women. All the proceeds go to three charities Breast Cancer Care, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action. I thought what a great cause and it would be such a privilege to do something to honour my mum.
So here I am at the beginning of my training with a very long road ahead of me and all I have is detemination and a team of four lovely ladies for encouragment and my husband, Tez, who will be my cycling companion.
I would really appreciate your support in what ever form it comes over the next seven months. I will be finding ways over the following months of raising money but thank you so much for coming to my page, reading my story and most importantly just giving a donation.
