I recently found out that I was born on the same day as the World Premiere of the James Bond film "Goldfinger"  - on the 17th September 1964. In fact I was born around 7pm, just as the actors and actresses would have been gracing the red carpet! 

Being that" Goldfinger" and I share our 50th birthday I decided that I would hold a "Goldfinger Gala Gathering" in order to raise lots of money to share between two wonderful charities. So instead of buying me a birthday present I would be delighted if you would instead support the charities I have chosen - "Macmillan Cancer Support" and "Hope House". 

On a national level I have chosen to support Macmillan Cancer Support (for obvious reasons). At a local level I have chosen to support "Hope House" the children's hospices. To donate to Hope House,  please visit my other JustGiving page at     www.justgiving.com/Sandra-Ward1 

Many of you will be attending the "Goldfinger Gala Gathering" on Saturday 20th September 2014 and I thought that donating on-line might be an easier way for you to donate money to either/both of my chosen charities. If I haven't been able to invite you, then I am sorry but the numbers at the venue are strictly limited to a maximum of 80 guests. Thank you for deciding to donate on-line anyway. 

On the evening itself we plan to hold a charity raffle; charity roulette; and a charity quiz. Sean Connery himself will be attending - albeit in his cardboard cut -out form! We are also hoping that a kind volunteer from The Aston Martin Owners' Club will be attending with an Aston Martin - so a super photo opportunity for a small donation to the charities I have chosen.
