Story
My name is Sandra and I'm walking at least 31 miles in May (hopefully a little more!) to support families facing dementia. Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimers disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
In my role as a freelance movement/wellbeing dance coach working with a range of people from assisted living, residential homes and charities. I see on a daily basis how important the feeling of being independent, worthwhile and valued is to them all. To see the joy on their faces when a piece of music brings back lovely memories is a wonderful thing to see. No one should be left behind and that is why I am walking for Dementia UK so please give a little, so that many can be helped. Thank You xxx
