Since being diagnosed 12 months ago with a brain tumour called a glioblastoma multiform, I have been through a punishing treatment regime which I am only just getting over. The regime was invasive and left me weaker and not able to do what I did, I have also been forced to retire from work as a nurse as I simply cannot do my job any longer.

There is research being carried out into immunotherapy treatments with fewer side effects, with promising outcomes. So I want to do something to help fund this research for others to benefit from. Walking 5km is a massive challenge to me now, one which I am hoping to complete with my friends and colleagues from work.
