Story
My nephew Jayden sadly lost his battle with cancer on Christmas Eve 2014 after fighting it for nearly 18 months. During this time, Naomi House Childrens Hospice provided much needed support for Jayden, Ella, Mike and Lou. Although I had heard of Naomi House, I had never visited it before. I got the chance to go there in December and it is an absolutely amazing place with lovely staff and facilities for the children and teens who need respite care, their siblings and parents. I know there are a lot of worthy charities out there but this really is something special.
All the family are getting involved in different events and I want to help Mike and Lou in their quest to raise as much money as possible throughout 2015. A final total from all the events will be added up and revealed on Christmas Eve this year, on the anniversary of Jayden's passing. Every single penny will go to the hospice.
I will be running 13 miles around Southampton on 26th April this year and proudly wearing my Naomi House vest with a photo of Jayden to keep me going. I have never run that far before and although I have done a few 10K runs in the distant past, I haven't had much time to commit to running in the past year. I have recently started training and when it's tough, I think about what that little boy has gone through in his short life and it keeps me going. My sister-in-law Anne Wilson will also be running this with me (I say with me, she will be miles ahead!!)
If you are able to sponsor me even a couple of pounds that would be fantastic.
