Story
This tribute page has been set up to remember someone special. Your donations will support North Bristol NHS Trust and give patients across Bristol and the South West the best possible healthcare. Thank you in advance for your kind support, it means a lot.
My husband Richard was the greatest kindest and most genuine man you could ever meet, he touched so many peoples lives. On the 7th August he collapsed in a toilet at Sedge Moor service station in Bristol North Bound on his way home someone alerted staff/police as they couldn’t get access. Police alerted the ambulance service and had to remove the door to gain access to my husband, it took over 1 hour to get an output. He was then taken by air ambulance to Bristol Royal Infirmary and was then transferred to Southmede Hospital ICU where he was put on life support as he had had a bleed on the brain. Hospital staff and Dr’s where fantastic especially two Nurses one who’s name I cannot remember and a Nurse called Jasper and Dr Aiden Marsh they explained everything that was happening in as much detail as possible, but we where told that he may not make it through the night. On the 8th August he was still with us but where taken to a room and told he’d had another bleed and there was no chance of recovery but Dr Aiden Marsh told us if there was any chance he could have recovered he would have fought for him. We then had to make a decision that no one should have to make to turn of his life support off. We decided as a family this was the best thing we could do for Richard. My husband passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Richard will never be forgotten and this is our way to say thank you to all those Dr’s and Nurses who work so hard to look after our family members on the ICU their support has been beyond overwhelming and thank you will never be enough.
Thank You from the bottom of our hearts Sandra and family xx
