Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sandra was diagnosed as a coeliac when she was a child.
The Coeliac Society have been supporting people with coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis for nearly 40 years, (although Sandra isn't that old)
Coeliac disease is the least known and understood of all food allergies/intolerancesyet it is probably the most prevalent and can result in serious health problems if left untreated.Coeliac disease is caused by an intolerance to gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye yet it can be treated very successfully by excluding gluten from the diet. The disease can lead to far more serious conditions such as osteoporosis, infertility and gut cancer if left untreated.
Coeliac , the national charity supporting people with coeliac disease and around 600 newly diagnosed people join Coeliac UK every month.
The societies mission is to improve the lives of people with coeliac disease through support, campaigning and research by raising awareness of coeliac disease amongst the public, the healthcare sector and food manufacturing and food service sectors.
your donation will help continue the vital work of the society as well as funding medical research into all aspects of coeliac disease.
The society has and continues to help Sandra through the years and the improvement of the food available for people who medically require a gluten free diet has improved greatly.
So please dig deep and donate now.
