Story
I run free STEAM ( science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) sessions every Monday morning for babies, toddlers and preschoolers from my home in Saffron Walden. Since the lockdown the sessions have been held online over zoom and include primary age children too.
I started my STEAM sessions on my own initiative when my middle son was 9 months ( he’s 6 now) to get small children interested in science through a combination of play, paint, sensory- both visual and tactile, using a variety of mediums including soap, sand, glue, ice, flowers, colour, water etc.
I thought creating STEAM jars of experiments with instructions would be fun for kids and their parents to do together in their own time, and selling the jars to raise money to help local children in need would enhance the lives of more children.
