Story
I chose GUTS UK because they support research into oesophaegal cancer. In their own words:
"We're getting to grips with guts!"25ft is a lot of gut to understand! The truth is, our guts have been underfunded, understaffed and undervalued for decades. People are suffering, people are dying. All because of a lack of knowledge about our guts. With new knowledge, we will end the pain and suffering for the millions affected by digestive diseases. Guts UK’s research leads to earlier diagnoses, kinder treatments and ultimately, a cure.
Update 11th January: slow start due to Covid at the beginning of the month but have now walked a total of 6.5 miles, which makes 10.9km. I am having to take it easy as I am still fatigued after the virus, so I am walking every other day. Should still make the 66km by the end of the month with time to spare.
Update 26th January: owing to Covid and Kate the Cat's illness, I have not yet been able to walk much so have decided to extend my target date to the end of February. I have now walked a total of 14.8 miles (23.7km)
