Our church, St Michael and All Angels, Sandhurst, is one of many which need funds to maintain them. Local church members are left to raise funds for this with precious little help from Government or the National Lottery Heritage Fund (we've tried!). The annual sponsored Ride & Stride event on 10th September gives a chance for the local community to help preserve this important part of our heritage, where many come for weddings, funerals, baptisms, Christmas, school events and, of course, Sunday services.
50% of income from this event will go to important repairs to St Michael's Church, the rest will be used to help other historic church buildings.
