Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit Sandcastles JustGiving page.
Each day at Sandcastles Nursery we help to care for and educate many young children. What is this all about though if we fail to help ensure our planet is able to sustain human life in the future? The damage we continue to do to our planet is causing it to be on a very bleak path. David Attenborough's Netflix documentary, A Life on Our Planet' was the impetus for Sandcastles to start supporting The World Land Trust. We urge you to watch the documentary and join us on our mission.
The biodiversity of our planet is essential for human life and the tropical rainforests play an essential role in maintaining the world's biodiversity. £100 enables The WLT to secure 1 acre of rainforest and £5 allows them to buy, plant and nurture one tree. Our hope is that together we can help them to buy more land and trees.
We would like to invite you and your children to start documenting
your walks and / or bike rides. We would love you to share photos taken when out walking. Your children can share their walks with
their teachers and peers. Many learning opportunities arise from such
outings. With the objective of raising in money in mind, it would be great if you could sometimes replace journeys in the car or on public transport with walking or cycling. The money saved on petrol and fares can then be donated to this cause. Perhaps you normally buy a coffee when out. You could consider taking a coffee in a flask
and donating the money saved or perhaps take a reusable cup and talk to your child about limiting one-time use items.
Our aim is to educate each other as we all have much to
learn and a lifetime of habits to change. Along with this, we will of course, be educating the next generation and whilst doing this, if we all keep donating any money saved, we can hopefully help to do our bit to set a new path for the future of our planet. Sandcastles will also be making contributions and will continue to think of more ways to raise funds. Donations can be big or small. It's encouraging and motivating to know that for just £5, a tree can be bought. That’s less than 2 cups of takeaway coffee!
Please spread the word as friends and family may like to get involved too.
Thank you.
